After a complex back & forth process with the Civil Aviation Authority, I finally received updated extended drone flight permissions from the CAA in August 2024, on the back of earlier extended permissions issued in 2022.

My CAA Operating Safety Case-based Operational Authorisation permits me, under certain circumstances, to fly:

• up to 1,000 feet height (instead of the usual 400 feet)
• extended distance of 1,500 metres from the remote pilot’s position (instead of the usual 500 metres)
• at a reduced separation of 10 metres from uninvolved people (instead of the usual 50 metres).

These permissions apply to the DJI Inspire 3 drone, as well as the DJI Mavic 3 series of drones, & my OSC gives me a substantial commercial advantage over other drone operators.
