Inchmahome Priory on the island of Inchmahome – Lake of Menteith, Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park, Scotland, 11th September 2015. The priory was founded in 1238, & in 1547 it served as a refuge for Mary, Queen of Scots. Aged four, she was hidden here for a few weeks following the disastrous defeat of the Scots army at the Battle of Pinkie Cleugh during the Rough Wooing. Inchmahome Priory is open to the public through Historic Scotland between 1st April & 30th September.
